Not a big deal, playable but just not as good as duckstation.īut the main thing is that Duckstation has everything epsxe has, runs the games a bit better and also it's just really clean. It runs the games extremely well, a game like Herc's Adventures has no issues I've noticed on it so far whereas epsxe was having a couple issues. I tried Duckstation because people were giving it a lot of praise and I just wanted to see how it runs. Some small artifacts and stuff doesn't bother me.īut there was also CPU overclocking which I used in a certain game which I didn't think any other emulator had. Well, from someone who has always used ePSXe because exactly as you said, why not if the games I enjoy run perfectly fine on them? Can play with speed and I don't play ps1 for graphical quality either. I hope other emulators follow this path SNES, NES, etc as more and more people discover it looking forward to what direction you bring this emulator. I have a feeling that in the future Duckstation will become the new standard for ps1 emulation much like epsxe was the main one. the only thing this emulator is missing is a built-in recording feature like some emulators have where it can record videos from within but I am all good I got screen recorders to do that job. Duckstation? all I gotta do is click the cheats if I feel like it and half the codes are already pre-loaded in and ready to use saves me time having to go looking. I have not even scratched the surface of what else this emulator can do yet also love how unlike PSX and epsxe the cheats function is less a headache to use well PSX didn't have a cheat feature at all and epsxe it is annoying and tedious. I have not tested Marl Kingdom Little Princess in Duckstation yet but I have a feeling it will work fine since it runs Koudelka just fine. Not just PSX had issue with freezing games though epsxe had an issue too the game Marl Kingdom Little Princess would get similar issue to Koudelka in that it freezes and locks up randomly in both PSX and epsxe. PSX had its own share of issues while it did not have plugin hell like epsxe to run it was a ready to go emulator much like duck station it still had its issues of not running certain games correctly namely Koudelka I have been trying to get into Koudelka recently and every time in PSX which was my main emulator for awhile the game kept freezing on the FMV scenes or it would randomly lock up during battles forcing me to reset or rely on save states don't know why koudelka does that but it runs 100% in duckstation. But I always had issues with epsxe with how the games ran either the graphics of certain games did not display correctly or some games ran slow at points. Before I found your emulator I was using PSX I know PSX is badly outdated and no longer getting updates but it worked better for me and epsxe the most common emulator choice. So you are the creator of duckstation? I have to say as someone who just recently found the emulator and loving every bit I would like to say I greatly appreciate and thank you for your hard work you have created something remarkable for PS1 emulation something sorely needed.
